Fall Rockhunts and Website Links

1.  If you would like your gem club’s website link on my links page, let me know the URL.  I’d like a link back to me on your club’s page as well, if possible.

2.  If you would like your personal website on my links page, let me know the URL. I’d like a link back to me on your page as well, if possible.

3.  If your club has passed a resolution that my field trips are official fieldtrips for their clubmembers who go on them, let me know and I’ll put that on my website, too.

4.  We’re gauging interest in the fall field trips.   If you’re interested in going, let me know.  Nothing is set in stone, and I’ll send out an email in August or so asking for more concrete information.  But I’d like to know whether we could gather a big enough group to consider a fall rockhunt.  And it’s possible we could do to make it a longer hunt in the fall: I think the owner of the Walker could arrange to be out here for five days as he did this time. Then, when you add two days of Needle Peak and two days of Ritchie Ranch to it, you have a potential of 9 days in a row of rockhunting. By the time I’ve hunted 9 days straight, I’m pretty tired, and I’m used to both the elevation (Walker Ranch is at 5000′, Riitchie is 4500′, East Needle peak is 2300′) and the lack of humidity.  If you want to hunt for more than 9 days in a row, I’ll point you to some great road cuts!

Regards, Teri
